Celeste L. Mentel

	Celeste L. Mentel, age 93, of Pinckneyville, IL, died Thursday, August 5, 2004 at 1:42 p.m. in the Coulterville Care Center, Coulterville, IL.
	Celeste was born on November 4, 1910 in Rice, IL, a daughter of Cammie and Mary M. (Zitt) Hubler.  She married James F. Mentel on September 14, 1927 at Todd's Mill, IL and he preceded her in death on February 14, 1963.
	She was a member of St. Bruno Catholic Church, Pinckneyville, a Charter Member of the Catholic Daughters, the Blue Army and the St. Bruno Quilters.
	Survivors include a son:  John Robert "Bob" Mentel, and his wife, Donna, of The Villages, Florida, two daughters:  Theresa Dobrinick of DuBois, IL and Joan Epplin, and her husband, Bernie, of Harrisburg, IL, two brothers:   Vincent Hubler of California, and Joseph Hubler of St. Louis, MO, two sisters:  Marcella Anderson of Woodhull, IL, Clara Todd of Moline, IL, nineteen grandchildren, fifty great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild.  
	Celeste was preceded in death by her parents, husband, four sons:  Charles, James, Richard, and Raymond, a daughter:  Geraldine "Gerre" Luke, a sister:  Stella Kellerman, three brothers: Bert Hubler, Melgor Hubler and William L. Hubler and two great-grandsons:  James O. Luke, Jr. and Joshua Ruffino.
	Funeral services were held on Monday, August 9, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Bruno Catholic Church with Fr. Brian Barker and Fr. Gene Wojcik officiating.  Interment was in St. Bruno Cemetery.
	Friends called at the Pyatt-Harrawood Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, on Sunday from 5:00 p.m. till 9:00 p.m. and on Monday from 8:00 a.m. till 9:30 a.m.  A rosary was recited at 7:00 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home.
	Memorials may be made to Luke Memorial Hospice.
